Katrina Kaif wants to remain unique

While most bollywood celebrities like Shahrukh Khan to Salman to Hrithik to Akshay to Abhishek is on either Twitter or Facebook, or both, there are a few exceptions that aren’t keen to open an account on these popular socialnetworking websites. Katrina Kaif is one of them.

Although there are several Katrina Kaif accounts on both Facebook and Twitter, the fact is, they are fake.

“I don’t understand this. Aren’t stars supposed to be exclusive? Or should they be so accessible that everything in their life should be out in the open? From what they eat to what they drink to what they wear… I can’t bring myself to this. That’s the reason why I am not on Facebook or Twitter. Why would people spend money to watch stars on screen, when anyone and everyone could connect with them so easily?” Katrina said.

I feel that even stars do need a platform to air their views. Yes it’s important to draw a line and not get too personal, like some actors actually do.

Barbara claims she is stronger than Hrithik

Kites has not been an easy film for Hrithik. The actor shot a number of action scenes and even injured himself quite a few times.

In once instance, he had injured his ankle, on another occasion he deeply cut his wrist and was rushed to the hospital.

Interestingly his leading lady Barbara Mori too had to do some stunts in the film but she was lucky enough never to be injured.

“Unlike Hrithik I didn’t had major injuries but yes I did have some while shooting, I guess I am stronger than him,”

the Mexican actress laughs out.

Now i’m sure, this will give Hrithik a complex big time..

Salman-Katrina, hottest couple of the decade

In a poll conducted by MSN India, Shah Rukh Khan was declared as the actor of the decade.

Other than that, Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were voted as the hottest couple of the decade.

Shah Rukh topped the poll with 29 percent votes followed by Aamir Khan with 26 percent and Amitabh Bachchan with 16 percent votes.

For the couple of the decade, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif out beat couples like Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai, Bipasha Basu-John Abraham and Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor.

Of the 38,648 readers who responded for ‘Hottest couple of the Decade’ category, 36 percent opined that Salman and Katrina made for a greater couple than Abhishek-Aishwarya who got 27 percent votes, followed by Bipasha and John with 13 percent votes while Kareena and Saif got only six percent votes.

Katrina also topped the ‘Hottest Body of the Decade’ poll with 33 percent votes and proved that her curves are more attractive than Bipasha, who got 13 percent votes, Aishwarya Rai Bachcan (10 percent) and Priyanka Chopra (9 percent).

Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Aag’ was voted ‘Flop of the Decade’ and it won hands down with 48 percent votes followed by ‘Drona’, ‘Love Story 2050′ and ‘Tashan’.

For the ‘Hottest Lip Lock of the Decade’ poll 39 percent thought that Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat’s kissing in “Murder” was more sincere than Hrithik-Aishwarya in “Dhoom 2″ (21 percent). It was followed by Saif-Kareena in “Kurbaan” (16 percent) and R. Madhavan-Vidya Balan in “Guru” (7 percent).

Shahid Kapoor played a major role in the release of Love Aaj Kal

When Imtiaz Ali was about to sign Love Aaj Kal he did not quote his price to producer Saif Ali Khan until Jab We Met released, on Shahid Kapoor’s advice.

Imtiaz recounts, “After Jab We Met was ready for release Shahid gave me some really valuable advice. He told me never to fix my price before my film was out. He was like, I am telling you because you are stupid about things like this; wait to see how the movie fares. Don’t fix your price now. And thanks to him I think I got a little moremoney than I would have ideally for Love Aaj Kal.”

He also adds, “He was the first guy to believe that Jab We Met could be a hit, ahead of me, ahead of Kareena, ahead of anyone else. And he was right.”

Dev insists on seeing Freida as the Bond Girl

Freida Pinto’s lover Dev Patel insists that he would love to see Freida to be a part of the super-spy series though she has dismissed reports of playing the next Bond Girl.

“She is stunning. There have been rumours about her being a Bond girl on the next film. I would love her to get the role, she’d be amazing,” Patel was quoted as saying.

Pinto had earlier admitted that she’s too “young” to be a part of ‘Bond 23′, which will be helmed by filmmaker Sam Mendes.

But would Patel ever like to step into the shoes of the British agent and play the 25-year-old beauty’s on-screen lover once again?

“I’m not sure I could ever play 007 though. I’m too much of a wimp,” said Patel, who had starred alongside Pinto in Slumdog Millionaire.

Will Housefull go Housefull?

Akshay Kumar is quite positive about his next movie Housefull, to be released this Friday. According to the “Khiladi”, the promos invoked positive response among the people. Sajid Khan, the director of the flick, too is optimistic about the venture. He feels that this movie will be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. With a star cast that includes; Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Jiah Khan and Ritiesh Deshmukh; one can expect a laughter riot.

The story that involves a man with three wives might amuse the public. The promos have surely created a lot of curiosity among the audience. We need to wait and watch whether Housefull will run to a housefull theatre or not!!!

American Romance Is In The Air For Hrithik

Our desi loverboy Hrithik Roshan is all set to pair opposite American actress Kristen Stewart in Shekhar Kapur’s next “Paani”. Kristen Stewart, 20, was seen palying the role of Bella Swan in the movie Twilight. In this typical “Romeo-Juliet” story, Hrithik dons the role of a lower-class Mumbai guy who falls in love with a rich beauty. Shekhar was on a look out for someone delicate and vulnerable to fit the character of Juliet. Kristen suited the role to the “T”. It seems she is a huge fan of Shekhar Kapur’s works. Whether Hrithik- Kristen pair will be a hit with theaudience only time will tell.

Amitabh Bachachan Moved By Indian Idol 5

Season 5 of Indian Idol started with a bang on Monday. Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog that the hopes, aspirations, victory and defeat of the young “would move any human”. Big B accepted that he was indeed touched by the contestants while watching Indian Idol. And also the fact that he watches the show with “great interest and expectations”.

Two episodes over and the excitement has already started on the show. With judges Anu Malik, Sunidhi Chauhan and Salim Merchant pulling each other’s legs, the entertainment has just begun. Already shorlisted some talented singers, Indian Idol 5 seems to be quite promising. Our fingers are crossed!!!

Post IPL, What Is SRK Doing?

After losing over IPL matches, the co-owner of the Team Kolkata Knight Riders,Shah Rukh Khan is busy with his home production movie Ra.one. After Bobby Chawla (the CEO, Red Chillies) chose a brief period of illness and hospitalization, the kind-hearted superstar has taken over the additional burden of productiononto his his already overloaded shoulders. The actor was busy shooting prior to this but this extra work is keeping him really busy, away from the whole world.

To this the great SRK tweets, “Whole day gone in meetings for production etc… So many things happening.. Sometimes don’t even realize how the day comes to the end. Wish, Bobby my friend gets well sooner than soon. He is still in the hospital and the film is so difficult in terms of production”.

As per the 44-years old actor, the title ‘Ra.One’ means “Random Access Version One”. I think we will understand the meaning and relevance better after the movie hits the floor. Let us see in spite of all these hurdles, when will the movie be on air for us to view and guess the real meaning.

3D Sequel Of Mr. India

During the eighties, when one of the biggest blockbuster Mr. India was released, the advent of SFX was much away to even make a thought of. Mr. India had tickled almost everyone. Starting from Sridevi’s romance to the thriller magic of the invisible man, Anil Kapoor as Mr. India was all a huge success. Since then a new generation of movie watchers has been created.

Now Boney Kapoor is toying the sequel. He is readying to produce the movie in 3D simultaneously incorporating SFX technology. Boney reveals, “I want to take this film to the highest level. 3D will be a terrific experience with this kind of subject”.

The lead roles will be played again by the never forgotten couple Sridevi and Anil Kapoor, whose magic of romance is still alive in all Indian hearts. And the biggest twist is over deciding the Villain, which would cast the never expected love Guru Salman Khan. Imagine Salman as Bogambo (saying “Bogambo Khus Hua … “) and running his fingers across the white globe ! But Boney is confident of his choice ! The budget of the movie has been estimated nearly about Rs.100 crore.

Music Launch of the much awaited Ravana

The drum beats followed by Abhishek jumping off a cliff into a river ! And Aishwarya emerging out of the same river water ! Yeah Readers ! You guessed it right. I am talking of the upcoming movie Ravana.

A huge buzz has been felt since the trailers of Ravana have hit the television sets. The movie starring Aishwarya Rai Bachhan, Abhishek Bachhan and the Tamil Superstar Vikram, is the forthcoming movie of the multi-talented Mani Ratnam. Ravana will be showcased in multiple languages.

The Audio release was set on the 24th of April at the Yashraj Studios. The musical magic is created by the living Legend Gulzar and the Oscar and Grammy Awards Winner, A.R. Rahman. The combination of the two greatest musical maestros is ready to trap your heart and bind your soul. The list of crew is a top-notch. The younger Bachhan has laid a few steps onto the beat of the song Thok De Killi at the occassion. And the Bachhan daughter-in-law added an extra sparkle with her stunning saree designed exclusively by Sabyasachi, the costume designer for the movie. The wait is still a little long because the movie is decided to be on air tentatively during the 11th International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2010 to be held in the month of June.

The English version of 'Kites' will release one week later

Now here's vital info. While everyone knows that the much-awaited KITES will be released worldwide on May 21, its international cut - in English language - will be released one week later, on May 28. It means, the American audiences will get to watch the two versions [Hindi and English] in two consecutive weeks. While the Hindi version, targeted at the Indian diaspora with a running time of 2 hours, will arrive on May 21, the English version, with a running of 90 minutes, will arrive at select venues on May 28.

Here's more on KITES! More than a week ago, a reputed newspaper had done a 'Spoiler Alert' and had revealed the climax of this keenly anticipated film. Expectedly, the news-report sent shock waves across the length and breadth of the film fraternity, since an expose of this kind, much before its release, usually harms the film in question.

While the newspaper tendered an apology the very next morning, KITES director Anurag Basu couldn't hide his anger while talking about it. "The climax mentioned in the news-report is false and fabricated. The sad part about the whole thing is, even if I say it's wrong, people might assume that's how the film actually ends," Basu sounds hurt.

This supremely talented director likes to stay away from the media glare, even though he's helmed one of the biggest movies of this year. Ask him if he had differences with producer Rakesh Roshan and he jokes, "Thankfully, we didn't come to blows." But he gets serious soon enough, "Actually, it took us time to adjust to each other's pattern of working. There were no hiccups once we understood each other," he says.

So will he work with the Roshans again? "You should ask them whether they would like to work with me again," he laughs.

'Raavan' should catapult Abhishek to super-stardom

Everyone's pinning hopes on five films - HOUSE FULL, BADMAASH COMPANY, KITES, RAAJNEETI and RAAVAN - to bail the bleeding industry out of the crisis. In fact, RAAVAN wasn't much in news till Saturday night, when the first look of the film and also its music was unveiled at a classy get-together at Yash Raj.

RAAVAN is an acid test for everyone associated with it, mainly Abhishek Bachchan. The stakes are high if you accept the challenge of a solo lead. While the Mani Ratnam - Abhishek Bachchan combo worked wonders in GURU, there's optimism that the duo would scale dizzy heights of success this time. The general feedback after watching glimpses of the film was, Abhishek has truly arrived!

So what happens if RAAVAN works? It would catapult Abhishek to the top bracket overnight. If you look at Abhishek's body of work, you'd realize that the talented actor hasn't tasted [solo] success after GURU. The two solo starrers - DRONA and DELHI 6 - failed to do the trick, while DOSTANA and PAA were successes no doubt, but Abhishek had to share the laurels with other actors.

The promotions of RAAVAN have kick-started with a bang and there's a strong possibility that it would turn out to be the big ticket to super-stardom for Abhishek.

Aamir Khan – Brand Ambassador Of The School Sanitation Programme

Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan is all set to make all schools around India Perfect too. He has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador Of The School SanitationProgramme. This programme will support the campaign which will promote cleanliness in the schools all around the country. A function was organised in the capital where Aamir was declared The Ambassador.

This program is joint venture of ministries of urban development and HRD. The motive of the program is to bring about a behavioral change in students which can be a key to success of any sanitation related initiative.

Addressing the students on the occasion Aamir said, “I am proud and happy to be associated with the National School Sanitation Initiative. I will lead by example.” The actor also answered the queries of the students who had gathered to catch a glimpse of their favourite star.

Ranbir As Kishore & Kat As Madhubala In Anurag Basu’s Upcoming Movie

Anurag Basu is planning a biopic on the late singer Kishore Kumar and for this venture he has signed Ranbir Kapoor to play the character of Kishore Kumar. His lady love in the movie will be none other than Katrina Kaif. Katrina will be playing the role of Madubala in the movie.

It seems that Katrina has already started watching Classics of Madubala like Chalti Ka Naam Gadi, Mugal e Azam , Mahal etc to bring in the perfection in her character. The makers are planning to recreate the magic of the song ‘ Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si’ which was picturised on Kishore Kumar and Madhubala in the film Chalti Ka Naam Gadi.

Earlier Anurag Basu had signed Katrina for his movie Silence, which Katrina refused when she came to know that Priyanka Chopra is playing a pivotal role in the movie. Inspite of this incident there is no grudge between the director and the actress and both are looking forward to make a great movie ahead.

Ranbir And Deepika Are Back In Action Together!

Ya this is true! Very soon Ranbir and Deepika can be seen working together in Anurag Basu’s next upcoming venture Khamoshi. Sources claim that Deepika has not yet rejected the offer to work against her ex – boyfriend. The other cast of the movie includes Priyanka Chopra who is supposed to play a role of mentally challenged girl in the film.

Earlier the film was offered to Katrina Kaif who refused the film due to the presence of Priyanka Chopra in it. The news of Ranbir and Deepika working together in a movie has created a lot of interest. Salman Khan is one person specially known for his generous heart. Interestingly, the actor also supports the person who tries hard but fails to score good marks.

Such people might not have anyone to still encourage them everytime but Salman asks them to keep a cool attitude and work for future.

Salman says, “The guys who didn’t get good marks this year, for them there is next year and life, no stress boss, enjoy the grind. I have gone through it too.”

Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley says people often ask her about marriage, but she has no plans to enter wedlock any time soon.
