Preity Zinta gets an Honorary Degree by a London University…

Bollywood’s dimple girl Preity Zinta will be getting an Honorary Degree by a London University.

Priety has done more than 30 films in Bollywood as well as Telugu, Punjabi and English language and will be honoured in the University of East London on 31st October, 2010.

The University has announced to honour Preity for her performance in films like ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ and ‘Veer Zaara’.

Priety started her career with Mani Ratnam’s ‘Dil Se’ in 1998 followed by a role in ‘Soldier’ in the same year.

Her first international film role was in the Canadian film ‘Heaven On Earth’ for which she was awarded the Silver Hugo Award for Best Actress at the 2008 Chicago International Film Festival.

Vivek weds Priyanka

Phew!!! Finally, Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva got married on Friday evening at the Alva farmhouse in Bangalore.

Vivek arrived at the wedding venue in a Mercedes along with his parents and baraatis at about 5.45 pm. There were dhols, baaja, firecrackers going off as the baraat entered the venue.

The 34-year-old actor was dressed in a heavily embellished maroon sherwani and a turban. He then mounted a mare and, accompanied by the baraat, he rode around the venue like a true-blue dulha.

The wedding was solemnized according to Hindu rites amid the chanting of verses from Holy Scriptures.

Hrithik-Suzzane at the premiere of Breast Cancer docudrama ’1 a Minute’

Hrithik Roshan and his gorgeous wifey Suzzane Roshan stepped out for a cause, and in sizzling style, for the premiere of Breast Cancer docudrama “1 a Minute” in Mumbai on Wednesday, October 27.

Dressed in a black Velvet jacket, faded jeans and white tee, Hrithik sent hearts aflutter. While his gorgeous wife Sussanne looked an absolute stunner in a single shoulder dress and animal print shoes.

The film’s premiere was organized by Priya Dutt in association with Nargis Dutt Memorial Charity Trust (NDMCT), but Priya’s brother Sanjay Dutt was a no show.

Portions of profits from each ticket sale of “1 a Minute” will be donated to NDMCT with the aim to raise awareness and supporting the social cause in India.

The Namrata Singh Gujral directed and produced film will release on October 29 across PVR cinemas.

The movie stars Breast cancer survivors like Lisa Ray, Barbara Mori (Kites), Mumtaz (yester years Bollywood sensational actress), Namrata Singh Gujral (Americanizing Shelley and The Agency), Olivia Newton-John (Grease), Jaclyn Smith (Charlie’s Angels), Melissa Etheridge (An Inconvenient Truth), Diahann Carroll (Claudine), brothers Billy Baldwin (Backdraft) and Danny Baldwin (VAMPIRES), whose mother is a survivor and finally Priya Dutt, whose mother, the famous Bollywood star Nargis Dutt, died of cancer.

Asin’s biggest Birthday surprise!!!

Asin is one lucky female, who got to spend her birthday with her friends and family members. Three of Asin’s closest friends flew down from different parts of the world to be with her on her birthday on October 26.

Says the actress, “Can you believe it? Tanya from Liverpool, Rose from Australia and Priya from New York co-ordinated among themselves to be in Mumbai for my birthday. We go back a long way. We were in school together. It was my biggest surprise to see them here for my birthday.”

For two full days Asin and her three pals whooped it up. “My friends decorated my entire apartment.Together with my parents they made my birthday so special. It’s very important to have your family and friends from outside the industry. This place can get lonely.”

Asin is back in Mumbai and on the verge of signing some big Hindi films.

“It’s ironical that my parents moved to Mumbai so I could pursue a career here. But now I’ve been out of Mumbai in recent months and they are alone in the city. Now I’m back. For good. During my birthday I make sure that I’m with my parents every year.”

Salman Khan soon to host Dus Ka Dum…

Salman Khan has been wooded by Sony Entertainment Television, to host the third edition of the Dus Ka Dum . Guess the show-makers realized that only Salman could attract viewers to the show because of his connect with the masses.

This time, the channel has agreed to the terms and conditions laid out by Salman. But we wonder if that means the end of Bigg
Boss journey for Sallu.

Salman’s equation with the channel dwindled when the Sony refused to give a pay hike to the actor, even when the recession was over. The actor had generously taken a fee cut, during the time of recession.

But now it seems all is well since Salman has agreed to host the show. Talking about how the two patched up, a source told a daily, “The broadcasters told Salman, ‘Sir, we’ll do it as per your terms and conditions.’ Apparently, a lot of efforts were made to get a replacement for Salman but all in vain.”

“Considering Salman agreed to a fee cut in the second season, shouldn’t the channel telecasting Dus Ka Dum have given him a fee hike in the third season? Anyway, ‘10 Ka Dum’ is very dear to Salman; that was his first show on Indian television,” adds the source.

Katrina transforms from a Barbie doll to Lord Krishna’s Radha..

Bollywood barbie doll Katrina Kaif will soon be seen in a beaitiful avatar of Radha in a film on Lord Krishna. Titled Main Krishna Hoon, the film will have Katrina in a cameo.

Revolving around the life of Lord Krishna, starting from his childhood ‘leelas’ up to adulthood, the film will be directed by Rajiv S Ruia. Ruia is known for directing ‘My Friend Ganesha’. Katrina’s hairstylist Promila Hunter is set to produce a film titled ‘Main Krishna Hoon’.

Confirming the news, Katrina says, “Let it be a secret. But yes, I am doing this film on the life of Lord Krishna because my hairstylist Promila Hunter is producing the film. When she asked me if I would make an appearance I didn’t even ask her what my role was. Only later did I get to know that it is a film on the life of Lord Krishna.”

The actress will have a small role to play but Kat is taking it seriously as she wants to get into the skin of the character. For this, she has started reading relevant books to understand Lord Krishna’s story and his relation with Radha.

Apparently, Katrina will do this cameo for free.

Salman’s Diwali bash in Bigg Boss house…

Salman Khan has decided to spend the festive day with the housemates. He is all set to enter the Bigg Boss house and spend an entire day with the housemates for the special Diwali episode..

This is surely gonna add some spice to the show on Diwali.
Salman’s entry in to the house, has come as a relief to the residents as there wouldn’t be any eliminations this week owing to his special appearance.

‘There was never a problem between Sonam and Me’- Deepika Padukone

The latest talk of tinsel town is that Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor will be joining Karan Johar on his chat show ‘Koffee eith Karan’, very soon.

While this has become a hot topic in B’town since is a BIG Bollywood ‘patch-up’, Both sonam and Deepika seem to see things differently. Ms Deepika candidly told in an interview that,“People are saying that this is going to be a patch up. But I say there was never a problem between us.

It’s just that we are two people who never really kept in touch. I am looking forward to meeting her on the show.”

Deepika Padukone at the Kingfisher Event…

Deepika Padukone looked crazily hot as member of a panel judging wannabe Kingfisher Calendar 2011 swimsuit models on Tuesday, October 26.

Deepika raised the sexiness bar high for the aspiring models by herself appearing in two jaw dropping attires: a form hugging blush pink draped dress and an equally hot floor length strapless gown with high riding front slit.

Other judges on the panel included Deepika’s beau Siddharth Mallya, actor/model Milind Soman and photographer Atul Kasbekar.

The panel will pick the twelve hottest models amidst the contestants for the Kingfisher annual swimsuit calendar.

Deepika revealed her strategy for selection.

“I am looking for someone who is, you know, not just good looking but also very, very intelligent,”.

The Kingfisher Calendar debuted in 2003 and Deepika featured on its 2006 edition.

Sanju know’s how to keep Manyata happy…

Sanjay Dutt is one happy man like never before. Reason for his happiness is obviously the arrival of his twins. As of now, the twins are in the hospital but when they come home, Sanju has planned out how things will be for them.

Sanju baba has decided he will sacrifice his one hour of gaming each morning and instead, concentrate on helping wife Manyata with raising the babies.

Says Mana, “He has even agreed to learn to change nappies. I am going to need help especially because there are two of them. And Sanju has promised he will do whatever is necessary to make my life simpler.”

A very well trained husband indeed.. 

Ashmit patel-Veena Malik share a cozy moment on ‘Bigg Boss 4′

Ashmit patel knows very well how to stay longer in the house of Bigg Boss 4 and entertain his audience. His secret, his ability to charm the girls of Bigg Boss 4 house with his lovey-dovey nature. First, he has mesmerised TV actress Sara Khan and now he gets cozy with Veena Malik with whom he had brawl few days back.

This all happened when Bigg Boss gave an overnight task to the housemates and he was paired with Veena Malik. Veena held Ashmit very cozily and both seemed enjoying the moment at the most. Though they had to be awake the entire night, they were seen half-asleep in each others arms.

Shahrukh bangs car into camera…

Shahrukh and his co-star, Priyanka Chopra are in Berline shooting in full swing for Farhan Akhtar’s film, ‘Don2’. Sadly, Shahrukh Khan, recently smashed into a camera, completely breaking it into pieces.

Reportedly, a car chase sequence with SRK and Priyanka Chopra’s body double for ‘Don 2′ went awry as SRK somehow lost control, and rammed into the camera, completely shattering it to pieces.

A highly placed source states, “Shah Rukh and Priyanka’s body double were in the car, when it lost control and rammed into the camera itself, destroying it completely! No one was injured although the camera which costs a few lakhs was a major loss. Shah Rukh, immediately got out of the car and apologised to all, including director Farhan Akhtar. He also volunteered to pay for the losses. He also thanked God that nobody was injured. Farhan called for a break to let everyone’s nerves settle down before resuming shooting.”

Will Aishwarya Rai accompany hubby to Vivek’s wedding???

Vivek Oberoi is all set to marry the Bangalore girl, his fiancee Priyanka Alva tomorrow i.e. October 29. This is the biggest event in his life, and for this big day, Vivek is busy mending fences and inviting people who have not exactly been his friends.

Shilpa is a South Indian married to a Punjabi. The actress fasted for hubby Raj Kundra. She quipped,

“I am a South Indian married to a Punjabi, all this is so new to me but my hubby’s fasting too to give me company. This is my first Karva Chauth. It’s not the food I crave, just water,”

However, Ash laughs heartly at such rumours saying, “Do you think so? I never worked like that. Never felt any competition or followed any.”

She further explained,
“I never planned my films; I don’t think we can do that,” said Aishwarya and pointed out, “I made my debut with a regional film ‘Iruvar’ opposite Mohanlal. I worked with Shah Rukh for the first time as a sister in ‘Josh’. I chose my path. I never thought or was concerned about competition. And if you ask me about being the highest paid actress in Bollywood, I think you get what you deserve.” .

We hope Ash doesn’t cross the thin line between confidence and overconfidence.

Sara Khan’s guy in Bigg Boss…

After the bindaas entry of actress Dolly Bindra in Bigg Boss 4, buzz is that Sara Khan’s beau Ali Merchant, who is seen in the TV soap ‘Bandini’, is also set for a wild card entry in the house. Isn’t it getting spicier in there!

Ever since Dolly’s entry in the house, things have become pretty tense. She already has had a good verbal fight over the kitchen captainship with Shweta Tiwari and has stirred up the proceedings inside the house which were otherwise getting placid.

Earlier, Sara Khan tore Ali’s pictures on the show and was seen getting intimate with Ashmit Patel. If Ali enters the show, it’s obvious that tension will rise between Ashmit and Sara, and the viewers will love it. In fact, some from the telly world even claim that he is Sara’s husband. Needless to mention, the dashing Hrithik Roshan and the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan certainly set the screen on fire with their amazing chemistry. The fact is that the audiences simply adores their ‘jodi’. No wonder there is so much expectation from their next release, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s GUZAARISH.

Although in the film both Aishwarya and Hrithik essay roles that are quite contrary to their on screen image but that has not deterred the excitement of their fans who are waiting eagerly to see these two together once again and create magic like they did before.

Lead actor Hrithik Roshan reveals that he was more than happy when he first heard from director Sanjay Leela Bhansali that Aishwarya was likely to be his co-star in the project and instantly gave his approval saying that Sanjay’s decision of picking Aish for the role was right. And without any diplomacy Hrithik states that that Aish is his favorite and that he is extremely comfortable with her. He also elaborated the reason as to why, saying that their approach to work is the same and so they both enjoy working with each other.

Certainly GUZAARISH would indeed be a spectacular experience for all and especially for Hrithik-Aish fans.

aamir-Priyanka flicks clash!!!

An Aamir Khan film gets seat bumps in theatres – that’s for sure. So it’s understandable that director Vishal Bhardwaj is wary of competition from the superstar’s film Dhobi Ghat.

Everyone’s waiting for the next film starring Aamir Khan. It’s been close to a year when cine buffs last saw him on screen in 3 Idiots. The actor’s next film, Dhobi Ghat, directed by wife Kiran Rao, was earlier slated to release on February 25, but now it has been pre-poned by almost a month.

Reports say that due to the Cricket World Cup in February Aamir has decided to release Dhobi Ghat on January 21. But that’s also the date finalized by Vishal Bhardwaj for the release of his film Saat Khoon Maaf starring Priyanka Chopra as a serial hubby-killer.

So a clash between Aamir and Priyanka seems inevitable unless UTV, which is linked to both the movies, does a little shuffling in the release dates to avoid the clash.

Since Aamir is unlikely to change the release date of Dhobi Ghat, UTV will try to persuade Bhardwaj to release Saat Khoon Maaf on another date.

Katrina says bye bye to seven year old relationship with Salman..

Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan have ended their seven year old relationship. Yes!!! And this time, the actress has made the rumour official.

Katrina has confessed this on Mumbai Mirror.

She said, “I wouldn’t like to specify when. That’s between the two of us. It just happened. That doesn’t mean we look the other way when we see one another. There’s no bitterness between us.”

Guess the actress, of late has gathered the courage to bring out the truth in public.

She added “The question on the status of our relationship seems to bother everyone around. Enough said on the topic. There is so much that’s happening in my life now. I just want to concentrate on my career.”

Hrithik throws a romantic, halloween Birthday bash for Suzzane

Bollywood’s no-nonsense, Hrithik Roshan threw a lavish, special and a spooky birthday party for his pretty wife Suzanne. Every guest was made sure to come fully dressed in their respective Halloween costumes.

The Rampal couple came all decked up with Arjun as a Joker from “Batman” and wife Mehr Rampal like ‘Beatrix the Bride’ from “Kill Bill”
well, they were not alone, close friends from the industry were also present at the Juhu residence of actor Hrithik Roshan to wish his wife a very happy birthday.

While Kunal Kapoor was dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, Karan Johar came attired in the costume of a priest! Also spotted at the party were childhood friends Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan along with wife Aishwarya Rai, who unfortunately were not dressed correctly for the occasion!

Zoya Akhtar and Rinkie Khanna, the not-so popular faces in star parties made most of the Hrithik Roshan bash. Accompanying husband Goldie Behl was actress Sonali Bendre. And Sanjay Kapur came dressed in “Dabanng” style!
