Dev Anand's Hum Dono now in colour

In a tribute to the evergreen hero of Indian cinema - Dev Anand - Information and Broadcasting Ministry will screen his 1960's classic Hum Dono in colour besides showcasing his four other hits including Guide.

The 1961 film, in which Dev Anand plays a double role and also starsNanda, Sadhana and Leela Chitnis, is the third black and white movie to come out in colour.

The first was Mughal-e-Azam, a film known for not just its grandeur but also for its characters and spirit, which was followed by Dilip Kumar Vyjayanthimala starrerNayaDaur.

"It is a retrospective on Dev Anand's film. Five films will be showcased includingGuide, Jewel Thief and ,i>Taxi Driver," Director, Directorate of Film Festivals S M Khan said about the screening which would be held from September four to six.

The function will be inaugurated by Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni. Dev Anand will also be present at the occasion.

Hum Dono was a phenomenal success and is known for its super hit songs Main Zindagi Ka Saath Nibhata Chala Gaya by Mohammed Rafi and also the duet Abhi Na Jaao Chhodkar by Mohammad Rafi and Asha Bhosle.
