I learn from my mistakes: Ashish

Bollywood actor Ashish Chowdhry, who has starred in a slew of multi-starrers, says he is comfortable doing it and at the same time does not mind going solo.

"Working in multi-starrers always helps. First, it is a healthy competition. Second, I get to make some great friends and a chance to learn from others," Ashish said.

"At the same time I am also ready to do a solo, though I do not like the use of this term. Using it, in my opinion is highly narcissist. I would prefer calling it a non-multi- starrer," Ashish, who debuted with Qayamat told PTI.

Movies are a team work and everyone associated with it should get their due...Calling it solo hit is unfair, he said.

"However, before undertaking such a responsibility one has to be sure that audience are ready to buy the tickets just to watch you," he said.

Ashish, whose Daddy Cool and Three were released recently, said though box office has not been much kind to him this time, he has always received encouraging reviews.

"Irrespective of the movies performance at the Box Office, critics have never panned me much. Having said that, I do not negate the importance of movies collection, as it is also equally important," he said.

"While Daddy Cool went average, Three-Love, Lies, Betrayal did not fare well at all. However, the critics response to my performances in both the movies was
encouraging," he said.

"I learn from my mistakes and ensure that I do not repeat them. I am always open to learn from my mistakes. Whatever I know today is what I have learn on the job as I do not have a film background," the actor said.

Ashish, who started his career in the entertainment industry with the TV serialHum Pardesi Ho Gaye, says he is still open to small screen, provided it does not take him away from his regular commitments for too long.

"I was offered all the three seasons of Bigg Boss. It is not possible for me to stay away from my regular work for three months or so. However, I would not mind anchoring or judging a show. I know, television would always welcome me back with open arms," he said.

The actor, who became popular with Onida advertisement playing the Davil, said, "Though I have not seen the ad I know about it. With time, things change and they ought to. I had a two-year contract with the company since 2007. For some reason, it could not be reviewed.

"I am sure their decision to rest the Devil mascot in peace, which I had fun playing, must be a part of well-thought over marketing strategy," he said.

Talking of the personal loss he suffered during 26/11 attacks, in which he lost his sister and brother-in-law, the actor said "the incident has changed my outlook."

"Post-terror attacks we have reunited as a family and have now come much closer to each other. We all are busy taking care of each other. Things obviously cannot be the same again. Though I am not anyone to judge the government's role, I feel they should have been more vocal in their action against the perpetrators of the crime," he added.
