Director Milan Luthria’s film, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, starring Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Prachi Desai, got a thumbs up from critics and since then the positive word of mouth has played in its favour.
On Friday, the opening day, the movie collected Rs. 5 crore and 98 lakhs. On Saturday the collection rose to Rs. 7 crore and on Sunday it touched the 9 crore mark. The movie performed best at Mumbai with just a little under half of all collections coming from the city alone.
All in all, the opening weekend collection of Once Upon A Time in Mumbai stands at Rs. 22 crores.
Trade sources reveal that the movie might make Rs. 75 crore worldwide in its overall run. That would qualify it as a ‘hit’. The movie was produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms at around Rs. 32 crores.
