First there was uproar about Saif Ali Khan's beard in 'Love Aaj Kal' and now there seems to be a minor furore overRani Mukherjee's patka in the forthcoming film, 'Dil Bole Hadippa'. It seems that our Hindi filmmakers have been rubbing the Sikhs the wrong way.
Just before the release of Imtiaz Ali's 'Love Aaj Kal', the community expressed its outrage at Saif's beard. The recent uproar seems to be over the fact that Rani is seen wearing a patka, which according to a section of the community is not fitting for an adult. According to their understanding, Rani should be wearing a turban and not the patka. In fact, members of the Punkabi Cultural and Heritage Board have even met Yash Chopra and expressed their concern. Apparently, their views are being considered by the production house. The board members have also objected to the use of the patka instead of the dot over the 'I' in the film's title on posters. The film's posters are likely to be changed and the production house has even promised to arrange a special screening for board members. Beside Rani, 'Dil Bole Hadippa' also stars Shahid Kapoor.
