Ritesh-Genelia are a couple….. It’s confirmed!!!

It’s now official that Ritesh and Genelia are an item. There have been speculations about the duo dating each other right from 2002 but, as usual the couple always kept their affair under wraps.
On Sunday night, at Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna’s 10th wedding anniversary party at their Juhu residence, Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza held hands and danced passionately with each other. Their body language clearly showed that they were nothing but a couple.

Said an eye-witness, “They were together throughout the party. Their common friends, who usually hang out with them, hadn’t accompanied them this time.”

Added the witness, “Akshay and Twinkle’s party rocked. The decoration, food, drinks and ambience were outstanding.

But the khullam khulla attitude Ritesh and Genelia had been something that we have never seen before and will go down in history.They have always been the shy and reticent types. This was the first time they let their hair down to publicly acknowledge their feelings for each other.”

Ritesh reunites with Genelia

Ritesh and Genelia have always been secretive about their roaring love affair. Not too long ago, it was heard that, Ritesh broke up with Genelia for his ‘Alladin’ co-star, Jacqueline Fernandes.

But a lot can be learnt from the recent turn of events. Recently, Ritesh got to know of a comment his so called “good friend” Jacqueline Fernandes had made on him, he was hurt real bad. Now, Jacqueline is out of his life and he is said to be back with Genelia D’souza.

Jacqueline made an uncharitable and a very nasty remark about Ritesh in front of one of his close friends. Obviously, Ritesh got to know about this later. And sure enough, it didn’t go down well with him..

When asked Jacqueline about this episode, all we got to hear was, “No comments. I don’t want to say anything on this at all.” Ritesh was unavailable to confirm the news.

Hmmm, I wonder what Jacqueline commented. Whatever it is, I’m happy Ritesh and Genelia are back.

Yes! CNBC AWAAZ Consumer Awards has crowned the pretty and bubbly actress, Genelia D’Souza, as the Brand Ambassador of the year. Last year, it was the Bollywood’s badshah who won the title.

Genelia, currently appears in ad’s for nine brands including Cadbury’s Perk, Fanta, Spinz, Dabur Vatika, LG Cookie, Virgin, Margo, Garnier and Fasttrack.

Genelia said in a press statement. “It is an honor that CNBC AWAAZ and the Indian consumers have chosen to bestow upon me and I couldn’t be happier. Stalwarts like Shah Rukh and Akshay Kumar have been awarded this prestigious title in the past and I’m only glad that people think I’m worthy of the same,”

“This award symbolises a bridge between the consumer and the brand and I consider it a huge responsibility. I hope I continue to do even better in the future and I’m sure I will as I have a very strong team with me that help me build, grow and sustain. My success is as much theirs as it is mine,” she added.

The award was announced late Monday evening.

Genelia asks Ritiesh to get out!!

By now we are all aware that, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza were dating each other since some time, and have now split.

Recent grapevine is that Ritiesh is seeing his Aladin co-star Jacqueline Fernandes. Though all these rumours were denied by Ritesh, Genelia and Jacqueline , yet things are not clear at all.

Recently, Ritiesh visited Genelia on the set where Genelia was shooting, and were comfortably chatting, when soon their friendly chat turned into a heated argument. Later, Genelia asked Ritiesh to walk out.

Well, we can only keep guessing what went wrong.

Riteish-Genelia spotted on a secret date.

If news is to be believed, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza have been spotted on a secret date.

The acting duos, who have constantly denied that they are into any relationship, were seen by a journalist while they were out with three other couples.

Apparently the actors were enjoying watching Date Night, starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey.

When they realised they had been seen, Deshmukh and D’Souza reportedly parted ways. It has been suggested that Deshmukh remained calm but D’Souza ran away and tried to hide her face so that she couldn’t get recognised.

Recently, news was also there that Ritesh broke up with Genelia and was seeing his Aladin co-star Jacqueline Fernandes but for now, seems like all is fine between Riteish and Genelia.

Genelia is not marrying Reitesh

Genelia D’Souza has denied the rumors about her marriage with Riteish Deshmukh. A leading tabloid had reported that Genelia will be tying the knot with Ritesh in February.

An angry Genelia says, ‘To set the record straight, I am not getting married to anyone. I have always maintained that my personal life is not something I would like to discuss. But this time since it was something that would affect my family, I decided to take a stand.’

My films and my brands are my priority as of now and I’d like to keep it that way. And if I do decide to settle down, you will hear it from me when as and when it happens.’

‘It’s rather funny that we have to read about the progress in our lives in the press before we even know it ourselves. I wonder how news like that can be put out without any confirmation from the people whose lives are being discussed.”

Genelia made her debut with Ritesh in 2003 with flop flim Tujhe Meri Kasam.

And now, Genelia D’Souza is all set to reach a bigger audience through TV. But it wasn’t a calculated move, she says. “I didn’t plan any of the things that have happened to me. Whether it’s acting, modelling or this TV show I’ll be hosting, it’s my fans who’ve decided for me,” says Genelia. “I’m doing two films with the production house that owns the channel which will air the show, Big Switch. I share a great rapport with them. They liked my work and attitude and asked me to host the programme,” she tells us.

And TV isn’t just for out-of-work Bollywood actors, she maintains. “I don’t think it’s a back-door entry to the limelight. Television is the best way to reach out to a lot of people,” she says, adding, “I’ve always lived by my own fundas. When I started my film career down south, people told me it was a place for Bollywood drop-outs. But I’ve proved them wrong and made a place for myself there.” So, does this mean that Genelia is in the same league as Salman Khan and Farah Khan, who are now hosting TV shows? “Oh, no! They’re great. I’ll be glad if I get anywhere close to them,” she replies.

Meanwhile, the actress has several releases slotted for this year. Apart from Hook Ya Crook and Chance Pe Dance, she also has a Telugu film ready for release. But not all her Bollywood flicks have done as well as her southern films. Is she making the wrong choices? “I need some time to get it right. It wasn’t all that easy for me even in the south. But I made it and I’m confident I’ll make it here as well,” asserts Genelia.

But won’t she get typecast by doing so many comedies? “I’ve just started my career and hope to get plenty of scope to experiment with all genres. But on second thought, there’s nothing wrong in playing the fun-loving girl-next-door,” says Genelia.

She’s also the new face in the advertisement world after Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji. “If anyone shows 10 per cent confidence in me, I’ll give them my 100 per cent. I feel privileged to endorse these brands because it comes with huge responsibility,” says the actress.

What about all the rumours surrounding her ‘relationship’ with Riteish Deshmukh? “It’s so irritating to respond to gossip. It’s a rumour; a part of our profession. If there’s something worth talking about, I’ll come out with it openly,” she clarifies.
