Vidya or Katrina for Rajnikant’s next???

After the record breaking ENDHIRAN, Rajnikanth is all set for his next film, HARA, which is being directed by his daughter, Soundarya.

HARA was initially titled SULTAN- THE WARRIOR. The hunt for the female lead is on with Vidya Balan and Katrina Kaif being the front runners.

Reveals a close hand, “Yes, Rajnikanth’s SULTAN- THE WARRIOR is now called HARA. HARA is one of the synonyms for Lord Shiva or Lord Krishna. It’s a 3D animation film. 50% of the film has already been shot.”

The source further added, “There’s a fight between Vidya Balan and Katrina Kaif for the female lead.”

Well lets wait and watch who wins the lead..

Vidya Balan is Rajnikanth’s new heroine…

The most happening buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Vidya Balan is set to act opposite the south mega star, Rajinikanth in the film Hara.

According to sources, the filmmakers have selected Vidya for the lead female role opposite Rajinikanth. but when contacted Vidya said that she hasn’t received any formal message from the production side as such.

Rumours have it that the actress is reluctant to do South films, but that’s not the case at all. She is very much interested in doing any big film. And who would want to lose an opportunity to work with the 60-year-old superstar after his latest flick broke all records at the box office.

About the film: 
‘Hara’ is a 3D computer animated historical drama film featuring Rajinikanth as the animated character. It is being written, designed, directed and produced by Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya on her home production company, Ocher Picture Productions.

Rajnikanth- Aishwarya’s flick ruling the Box office…

Rajinikanth’s fans doesn’t seem to have enough of him. His latest flick Endhiran, is smashing all box office records and writing history.

It was like a big gamble, making a film with a 60-year-old star and spending a whopping budget of Rs 160 crore. But at the end, it is worth it!!

Coming to the box office reports, according to trade analysts, the Tamil movie (and its Hindi version Robot) has collected between Rs. 200 to 225 crores in just two weeks since its release (October 1). This is a record breaker film in the history of Indian cinema as no other film has made so much money in just two weeks.

Talking about the figures, Endhiran has collected Rs. 150 crores from Tamil Nadu only. Its collection from other south centres is close to Rs. 50 crore. And the earning of Robot (Hindi) stands close to Rs. 15 crore.

That’s not the end of it, the movie shows no sign of slowing down at the box office down south.

Is Shahrukh trying to copy Rajinikanth?

A chase sequence shot atop a train in Ra.One has startling similarity to the sequence in Endhiran The Robot when Rajini runs laterally on a moving train to save his ladylove from goons. Since the fans have enjoyed the chase sequence in Robot a lot, there are going to be obvious comparisons, and probably accusations of plagiarism, when they see SRK doing the same in Ra.One.

Further, the allegations would get credibility given the fact that director Shankar had first approached SRK for Robot and had even discussed the film in detail.

To avoid such allegations, SRK has given clear instructions to the creative team to make the chase sequence on the train in Ra.One as different as can be from the one in Robot.

But would SRK be able to outshine, if not match, Rajinikanth’s style?

Box Office reports… Endhiran v/s Anjaana Anjaani

Anjaana Anjaani highlighting Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, has opened decently well at the box office. Three weeks after the release of Salman Khan’s Dabangg, movie buffs thronged the theaters to watch this major love story directed by Siddharth Anand.

Multiplexes in urban centers, like Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata saw 75 percent to 100 percent occupancy. However, the southern centers like Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai, saw less enthusiastic response because of Rajinikanth’s latest film Endhiran The Robot which is pulling most of the crowd down South.

The reports are mixed. While some felt it was a finely crafted romantic movie, others thrashed it as a senseless mushy drama. But it should emerge a winner on the strength of its superb opening and youth patronization.
The opening and noon shows were in the range of 80% to 90%. At some stations, they were 100% too. Anjaana Anjaani is reported to have grossed a very good 7.25 crore net on day one.

The Robot [Hindi version] has started slowly, its opening was 30%, but the reports are very good and the film is expected to grow in the days to come. The film has opened to an exceptional response in South. Anjaana Anjaani has some tough competition coming from the 60-year-old superstar Rajinikanth.

Will ‘Enthiran’ be a Hit???

‘Enthiran’ (Robot) is one of the most awaited flicks of the year 2010. The film stars South superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai the lead.
It is scheduled to release on October 1st, but the ticket bookings were opened in Chennai, and in an hour, all the tickets were sold out.

It is learnt that, in US also, Enthiran tickets are all sold out, before its release. Buzz is that, advanced bookings for the first 20 days have also been done in most of the theaters.

Enthiran movie is going to hit the theatres with 2,250 prints in various foreign countries like US, UK, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. Censor board has given U certificate for the movie and did not cut a single scene from the final print.
Enthiran is said to be the most expensive movie in Indian film industry.

SRK was the first choice for ‘Endhiran’…

Believe it or not, but Rajinikanth was not the first choice of filmmaker Shankar, for Endhiran.

Shankar initially wanted either Kamal Hassan or ShahRukh Khan for the role opposite Aishwarya Rai. However things didn’t turn out as expected and the project was grabbed by Rajinikanth.

After giving hits like ‘Sivaji’ with director Shankar, Rajinikanth is extremely happy to work with him again.

Enthiran is a forthcoming Tamil science fiction film co-written and directed by S. Shankar. The film features Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles with A. R. Rahman working on background score and soundtrack.The film will be released worldwide on 24 September this year. It is known for being the most expensive Asian film ever made.

Megastar Rajnikant has all praises for Aish…

South superstar, Rajnikant can’t stop praising Aishwarya Rai after working with her on Tamil film Endhiran, touted to be one of India’s most expensive film projects.

According to a source present at the music launch of the film, Rajnikant said:“There is no other beauty in our generation like Aishwarya Rai. She is a born artiste.”

Rajnikant, who shares mutual admiration for Aishwarya’s father-in-law, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, added jokingly: “Amitabh is looking at me from there and warning me not to praise her too much,”.

The actress started her speech with a personal touch by greeting the 3,000-plus crowd in their native language.

The source said: “The crowd just went berserk… and was shouting ‘We love you’.”

The film is set for a Sep 3 release.

Aishwarya falls at Rajinikant feet

The last day of the shooting for the Tamil film, Endhiran witnessed something very unusual. Not only South superstar Rajinikant, but the entire team of Endhiran was taken to a surprise by the unusual gesture of Aishwarys Rai.

Well, the Bollywood beauty actually went down to touch the superstar’s feet to seek his blessing.

A source from the sets revealed, “After the last shot was filmed, Aishwarya touched the Superstar’s feet seeking his blessing. Rajini, who didn’t expect this, was shocked initially but soon composed himself and blessed her.”

Aish also found it difficult to part ways with the entire cast and crew of the movie as she had developed a very close relationship with them. After all she had shot with them for almost two years.

Endhiran aka Robot : Ash, Rajnikanth experiment with 3D

The superstar Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starring Endhiran also known as Robot has been under production for some time now. News is that Shankar plans to invest 125 cr. to make the film into 3D in order to curb piracy.The film is set to release before year end. Besides this Rajnikanth is also doing an animation film which would be converted into 3D. Ocher Studios-Adlabs-Warner Bros venture Sultan, The Warrior is rumoured to have already crossed Rs. 600 million in its making.
