Bollywood prays for Lisa's recovery

Friends and colleagues of Lisa Ray are in a state of shock and disbelief after they came to know that the actress has been diagnosed with cancer.

She made this startling revelation on September 7 through a post on her blog. I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on June 23rd. Started my first cycle of treatment July 2nd. Not long ago," she wrote.

Actor Aftab Shivdasani with whom Lisa made her Bollywood debut in the 2001 filmKasoor, expressed deep concern and said, I know it s a very tough time for her and her family. I am always there to encourage her and help her to fight out of this difficult phase of her life. I know she is a brave woman. She won t give up easily. She will beat it down and recover. I pray for her recovery and good health.

Actor Vinay Pathak, who acted with her in the award-winning film Water says he is in very good terms with Lisa and was devastated to know of the news. I am shocked. I don t know how to react. It s very sad. She is a very dear friend of mine. I pray for her recovery, he says.

Vinay asserts that Lisa is a very strong women and he has full faith that she will fight her way out of the crisis.

I have always seen her in high spirits. She is a very strong women and I am confident that she will come out of the whole trauma. My good wishes are always with her, he adds.

Actress Divya Dutta who shared screen with Lisa in Kasoor says, It s shocking but I think it s too personal to say anything. My good wishes are always with her.

The entire film industry is up in support for Lisa. Bollywood is very optimistic about her recovery and many film personalities are of the view that Lisa is the kind of woman who can fight the deadly disease and come out of it very well.

Director Vikram Bhatt, actor Rahul Khanna, director Nagesh Kukoonur all wished immediate recovery for her.

Rahul Khanna wrote in his Twitter status update, My thoughts and prayers are with Lisa. She is a tough cookie and not easy to knock down.
